  Entrance of the clergy

  Priest carries the Missal

  Clergy take their places before the roodscreen door

  Priest leads versicles and responses; choir continues Officium

  "I confess to God, to Blessed Mary, to all the Saints"

  "... and to you, that I have sinned..."

  Clergy and servers: "I confess to God..." etc.

  "Habete osculum pacis" -- pax is given here in old Roman rite

  Priest, Clergy, and servers enter the chancel; Officium

  Priest lays down the Missal and greets the altar with a kiss

  Priest signs his forehead: "in nomine Patris et Filii et..." etc.

  Priest blesses incense: "Ab ipso benedicatur in cujus honore..."

  Priest censes the altar

  Altar is censed on all four sides...

  ... the east side ... (choir continues the Officium)

  Priest censes east, east of the altar

  Priest censes the Holy Relics of the Saints in the Ark

  Priest censes chancel, north to south, then Clergy

  Thurifer  takes the censer, kisses Priest's hand

  Deacon (or Priest) sings Kyrie verses (petitions) ...

  2nd entrance: Elements are brought to the chancel

  Priest takes Elements into the chancel

  Priest, to the people: "Dominus vobiscum!" The Lord be with you!

  Priest, people bow to each other; "Et cum spiritu tuo!"

  "Oremus"; Let us pray; 3  collects sung most Sundays

   Subdeacon sings the Epistle eastward

   Priest sits as the Subdeacon chants the Epistle.
