THE POSTCOMMUNIONS
also called the Ad Complenda

The Priest sings these prayers to a simple tone.  The Postcommunions sung on Sept. 14 are shown below.

Postcommunion   Ihesu Xpisti:    Nourished by the Body of Jesus Christ our Lord, with which the banner of the Cross was sanctified, we beseech Thee, O Lord our God, that by means of these Holy Things which we have received, we may take on the effect of their health in the glory of His immortality. + Through the same our Lord Jesus Christ Thy Son, Who liveth and reigneth with Thee in the communion of the Holy Spirit, God through all the ages of ages. Choir:  Amen.

Commemoration of the Holy Martyrs:

Priest:  Let us pray.

Postcommunion   Quaesumus Domine:   We beseech Thee, O Lord, that being filled with the Mysteries which bring health and salvation, we may be helped by the prayers of those whose solemn festivities we celebrate.

Commemoration of All Saints:

Postcommunion    Sumpsimus Domine:   We have received, O Lord, the heavenly, holy Mysteries, practising the remembrance of the blessed Theotokos and Ever-Virgin Mary and of all Thy Saints: grant, we beseech Thee, that we, assisted by their prayers, may in joys eternal arrive at the fruition of what we now accomplish in time. Through the same our Lord Jesus Christ Thy Son, Who liveth and reigneth with Thee in the communion of the Holy Spirit, God through all the ages of ages.  Choir:  Amen.
