Gold and Enamel Gospel Cover - $848 (order here)

GospelsWe currently have a very small simple Gospel book, but now that someone has donated a beautiful silver and red Epistle book cover, we find the Epistle book is larger and more impressive than the Gospel book, which should be the greatest, as containing the very words of our Lord and God and Saviour Jesus Christ.

(Note: We will supply our own text and this must be mailed to the seller for installation prior to shipping).

Option B - Gospel Book for $775

Cupola and Cross Project - $3,420
Manufacture and delivery are paid, and, as of Mar. 24, 2013, all remaining donations were made to finance the installation. Work on the installation began on Mon., March 25. Glory to God, and thank you to our benefactors.
cupola
The Russian-style cupola represents a flame of prayer to the worshippers as they approach the holy temple. We are called to become that very thing--a flame of prayer, with our thoughts and feelings rising up to God.

The above are drawings provided by the company here. A "starter donation" of $2,900 got the project underway (God bless you), and by 2013 the cupola was delivered.
Mar. 24, a large donation completed all that was needed to finance the installation, which began Mon., Mar. 25, 2013 at Holy Protection Church, 1701 Peridot Rd., Pflugerville, TX 78660. Completion date unknown.
_________

O Lord, save Thy people and bless Thine inheritance. Grant victory to Orthodox Christians over their adversaries, and by the power of Thy Cross, preserve Thine earthly dwelling-place.

Procession Cross with Procession Icon - $1777.29
Corresponding processional fans were listed. These are now donated.

asdfhttp://www.istok.net/altar-icon-set-1.html

The cross (top left) is placed upon a special pole which we will make.

The icon of the Mother of God (bottom left) is in the Russian "Kazan" style. This sacred image goes on top of a second pole, which we will make locally. These two sacred images, first of our Lord and God and Saviour Jesus Christ, and next of our most blessed, pure, glorious Lady, the Mother of God and Ever-Virgin Mary, go at the head of all processions, leading the people of God both literally and spiritually, that is, in very truth.

Following in their footsteps, we shall not stray.

The light blue inserts make this set ideal for our church of the Holy Protection, which has light blue walls and coverings.

Processional torches (candle-holders) -- $149.95

ashttp://www.easternchristiansupply.biz/-#supplies/c96/c122/41219

The $149.95 is for a single torch. Two of them are needed, because sometimes we have more candle-bearers serving, than there are candle-holders.

asdf
http://www.istok.net/priest-vestments-russian-priest-vestment-set-s1.html

(The catalog picture is only red, so select green through the drop-down menu there. On this page we photoshopped the stikharion pics to make them the colors described in the description for each; the online catalog shows gold, but you select the right color through the drop-down menu.)

Banding is actually gold, not blue; this was a side effect of our photoshopping. The actual hue of green will be a standard Russian Church green.

Set of baptismal clothes for babies -- $39.99

Baptismal Robe for Youth - $11.65

asdfhttp://sofrino.ru/products/product/key_3361

The baptismal robe at left is a simple robe for baptisms of older children, made in Russia.

Remember, the price is under $12, but that does not include shipping and handling.

Wedding candles -- $39.99

ashttp://www.istok.net/wedding-candles-2.html

The idea of obtaining these candles is to have one or several sets of them in the church for sale to any local Orthodox who may be having a wedding and need wedding candles.

Menaion Set in English - $1,200 - 12 oversize volumes

asdf
Order set here. We have a St. John of Kronstadt Press set, missing only one month. The above "Boston" set would be advantageous for us because (a) it is fuller in content, (b) it is free of the ubiquitous grammar errors of the SJKP edition, and (c) the type is larger and much easier to read in church.

Festal Menaion in Slavonic, but Russian letters - $889

asdfOrder book here. This would be a start towards helping us use a little Slavonic on feasts, when we could not achieve this so easily before.

Note: A Slavonic General Menaion (Obshchia Minia) was just donated to us by an Antiochian Orthodox priest. God preserve and save!

Vehicle

We need a vehicle to transport people to church. We currently have twelve people without "wheels" who desire to come to church on Sunday, but Fr. Aidan's SUV only holds seven. A minivan holding 15 people would be ideal at this time.

Please note that issues of vehicle condition and insurance must be worked out prior to the donation of any vehicle. Contact any parish council member if you are interested in donating a vehicle.

Processional Cross for Children - $83.86

asdfhttp://www.istok.net/processional-cross-for-children-2.html

This processional cross is specially made for children to carry. Since our parish has so many children, one of our children can be blessed by our priest to carry such a cross after the vested servers carrying the other crosses and banners and lanterns.

This one is less heavy than the gold processional cross.
