Icon Mosaic of St. Calepodius, Priest & Martyr of Rome

Feast: May 10

St. Calepodius was a Roman martyr who suffered for Christ together with Sts. Palmatius, Simplicius, Felix, Blanda, and companions. They suffered under Emperor Severus Alexander in the pontificate of St. Callistus I. Calepodius was a priest and the first of the group to suffer. His name is honored by a Roman catacomb. Holy Hieromartyr Calepodius, pray to God for us!

In the 2nd image, on the right, St. Calepodius is the figure farthest right. On the left, the inscription is visible: CA LEPODIUS PBR, that is, Calepodius Presbyter.

Icon from the ancient basilica in Rome of St. Mary in Trastevere. by Pietro Cavallini.
