Edmund's day in Old English liturgical books: "O God of inexpressible
mercy, Who didst grant the most blessed king Edmund to conquer the
enemy by dying for Thy name: mercifully grant Thy family that, at his
intercession, they may be worthy to quench within themselves the
provocations of the ancient enemy, conquering him. Through our Lord
Jesus Christ, Thy Son, Who liveth and reigneth with Thee in the
communion of the Holy Spirit, God through all the ages of ages.
Amen." --- from the complete Old Sarum Rite Missal, (c)
