Icons of St. Henry II, Emperor
Feast: July 15
In the
icon above, St. Henry is in the centre, beneath Christ, standing
crowned and anointed. Supporting his arms, as though he were another
Moses, are Sts. Ulric and Emmeram.
St.
Henry was the spouse of the virgin empress St. Kunegunda, and a pious
ruler who ordered things well in the Church and was strenuous for
Orthodox teaching.
