Seraphim (Rose), who reposed in 1982, served in the Russian Orthodox
Church Outside Russia. His writings have helped spread Orthodox
Christianity and a traditional Orthodox world-view throughout modern
America, the West, and in Russia itself. Following his death on
September 2, 1982, Fr. Seraphim has not been glorified by any Orthodox
Church. Yet he is venerated by a large number of Orthodox, especially
within Russia, as a saint. Blessed Seraphim has been widely celebrated
in iconography, liturgy, and prayer.
