Swithin (or Swithun), Bishop of Winchester

The simple and pious Bishop
Swithin is known for a miracle he wrought when a lady had dropped a
basket of eggs and they broke. By prayer he put the eggs back together
again. For his kindness to the poor, and his generous miracles, he was
named "Swithunus Pius," or "Swithin the Merciful." At his translation
countless miracles were wrought. Holy Father
Swithin, pray to God for us!
