Icon of St. Ursicinus, Abbot
in Switzerland, companion of St. Columban
Feast: Dec. 20
St. Ursicinus, the companion
and friend of the Celtic St. Columbanus, built a monastery in the Swiss
Jura and became its abbot. He was a great opponent of the serving of
wine. He is invoked as the patron of those who suffer from stiffness of
the neck. He reposed about the year 625. Holy Father Ursicinus, pray to
God for us!
Icon from
the Atelier Saint-André, France.
