Feast: Oct. 21

St. Ursula was a British princess who set sail with a great company of maidens and arrived in what is now Germany. At Cologne they accepted a martyric death and are glorified as a great host in the kingdom of heaven. Holy Virgin-Martyr Ursula, pray to God for us!

Bottom Icon: by the hand of Hieromonk Cassien, Greek Old Calendarist Hermitage, Clara, France

Beneath: reliquary of St. Ursula, 1489, by Hans Memling
